Two decades after it was first recorded, Grammy-winning producer and acclaimed songwriter Toby Gad breathes new life into his groundbreaking collaboration with the late Donna Summer with a trio of fresh, dancefloor-focused remixes of ‘Run’. Reimagined through a contemporary electronic lens, each version highlights a unique facet of the club spectrum – bridging past and present while honouring the timeless voice of the disco icon.
Originally crafted in the early 2000’s but never released until now, ‘Run’ showcases Donna Summer’s unmistakable vocals atop Toby Gad’s production, introducing her in a completely new light for today’s generation of electronic music lovers.
Each remix brings a distinct energy and sound palette to the project. Offering yet another different electronic side to the original version, the ‘Lollapalooza Mix’ delivers sun-kissed vibes. Euphoric and meditative, it evokes carefree festival moments with its shimmering drum patterns and emotionally rich arrangement. Next to come in the trilogy is the ‘Ibiza Mix’, a mainstage-ready anthem bursting with feel-good energy, festival-sized basslines, and infectious vocal chops that channel the spirit of peak-time EDM. The previously released ‘Tomorrowland Mix’, which kickstarted the journey, shifts gears with a darker, techno-inspired mood, infused with cinematic trance flourishes and modern club textures, delivering a bold new expression from both artists.
With these reworks, Toby Gad extends his legendary track record, recontextualising a hidden gem while pushing creative boundaries.
