Parisian producer/DJ Me & George, the magnetic name turning heads throughout dance music, gives another glimpse of his genre-spanning wUrK it EP with its fourth single, ‘Umami’, featuring fellow French talent Povoa, landing on April 18th.
Me & George’s five-track EP wUrK it lands June 20th via skateboard culture influenced label Halfpipe Records. A collection of forward-thinking club tracks, it draws on garage, breaks, broken beat and house—fusing raw energy with intricate detail.
Tied into the release is Me & George’s monthly ‘wUrK it’ residency at Paris nightclub Sacré. Each single features a carefully picked collaborator, many of whom appear at the events, with their identity kept under wraps until the night. For example, UK producer 1-800 Girls joined for the third edition in March, while Povoa is set to play the April 18th party (Tickets on sale here).
Three singles from wUrK it have dropped so far. ‘Get High’, released in November, kicks off as a grimey dubstep roller before morphing into speed garage chaos, topped with rap vocals from Human Movement. In January, Me & George teamed up with fellow Frenchman Boston Bun for ‘u told me’—an anthemic, delicate, and warmly intimate track. Most recently, they delivered ‘Conversation’ in March, a touching collab with 1-800 Girls that blends ethereal vocals, bouncy melodies and energetic drums for a hopeful, emotional trip.
‘Umami’, a club-ready addition, cruises straight into techno territory while remaining incredibly characterful and bright. Carrying with it clear hardgroove influences, it weaves in shuffling percussion, clever textural sound design, deliciously distorted synth stabs and even an anthemic organ riff, adding to the drama.
Me & George burst onto the scene with his debut EP George in October 2023. His tracks, remixed and supported by big names like Logic1000, Laurence Guy, Baltra and Model Man, have captivated audiences in the UK, Germany and Netherlands, amassing over eight million streams overall. Me & George’s sets are infused with rich UK influences from house to tech house, breakbeat to UK garage, having played alongside fellow tastemakers, Sammy Virji, Oppidan, Y U QT, and more.
