From Paris with Groove – Dompe Delivers a Filtered House Feast

House veteran Dompe serves up a nostalgic-yet-modern gem in French Collection Vol. II, the fourth LP under the Jackfruit Recordings umbrella. This release feels like flipping through a sun-kissed photo album of late-night raves and beach parties on the Riviera – and the soundtrack is pure filtered funk.

Opener “French Toast” sets the tone with a warm analog touch, while “Together” brings subtle vocal stabs that evoke Daft Punk’s early days. Meanwhile, “French Open” and “Dialog Loop” dive into hypnotic territory, blending precision drum programming with lush synth pads.

Every track glows with a retro sparkle, but never feels dated. It’s a delicate balance, and Dompe nails it with swagger and sophistication.
