Generation Liquid Launches with Fabio’s Exclusive Showcase

Legendary Drum & Bass pioneer Fabio introduces a new chapter with the launch of his label, Generation Liquid, at the iconic Camden Assembly on Saturday 17th May 2025. Launched initially as a groundbreaking compilation series in September 2023 that served two unforgettable volumes, Generation Liquid was created to spotlight the soulful, deeper shades of Drum & Bass that Fabio has tirelessly championed throughout his illustrious career. Now evolving into a dedicated imprint, the label will further cement Fabio’s vision, bringing this vibrant, emotive sound to the forefront, starting with this intimate showcase alongside a lineup of secret special guests yet to be announced.

Generation Liquid seeks authenticity above all else, returning to the roots of genuine A&R without relying on trends or streaming stats. Fabio will personally curate the roster, continuing the legacy of the compilation series by spotlighting fresh, innovative talent. His intention remains steadfast: to unearth and support new artists in the same visionary spirit that propelled figures like Calibre and Alix Perez to global acclaim via his legendary Creative Source imprint.

The essence of the Generation Liquid ethos is deeply tied to Fabio’s long-standing admiration for his protégé Calibre, whose soulful, expressive style Fabio famously described as “liquid gold for the ears.” This inspiration was central to the compilation’s original intent and directly led to Fabio’s acclaimed 14-year stint on BBC Radio 1 with ‘The Liquid Funk Show’. Fabio introduced the world to iconic future stars through this influential platform, breaking pivotal tracks from artists including Chase & Status and High Contrast.

Having been at the forefront for over two decades, Fabio holds legendary status. Beginning his career as a Pirate Radio DJ in the mid-80s, his eclectic style evolved through genres such as Dub, Rare Groove, Hip Hop, Disco, early House, Jungle, and ultimately Drum and Bass. As co-founder of the pioneering duo Fabio & Grooverider, he has fundamentally shaped rave culture and electronic music in the UK and internationally.

Known for hosting pivotal performances from electronic music giants such as Bicep, Disclosure, and Chase & Status, Camden Assembly remains an essential hub for live electronic music in London. Celebrated for its intimate yet electrifying atmosphere, it provides the perfect backdrop for the Generation Liquid label launch in perfect juxtaposition from the grandeur of Fabio’s recent appearance at the Royal Albert Hall with Grooverider and the Outlook Orchestra for A History of Jungle, Drum & Bass.

Generation Liquid marks a thrilling new era in Drum & Bass, expertly guided by one of the genre’s most influential figures. Join Fabio at Camden Assembly to experience the evolution firsthand. Tickets are on sale from £10 + bf via Ticketweb
