Lexlay Marks 20-Year Milestone with Debut Album ‘20 Years of Music’

A soundtracked memoir from Barcelona to the world, out now via Happy Techno Music

For Lexlay, music has always been more than just a career; it’s a calling. Two decades deep into a life shaped by dance music, the Barcelona-based DJ and producer celebrates the journey with 20 Years of Music, his long-awaited debut album. Out now via his own Happy Techno Music label, the release is both a reflection and a reaffirmation of everything he’s built over the last 20 years.

From humble beginnings in local clubs to headlining stages across South America, Europe and beyond, Lexlay has cultivated a reputation for high-energy, groove-laced tech house. What sets him apart, however, is not just his sound; it’s the unwavering enthusiasm he brings to every set, every release, every connection with his community. That spirit runs through the core of this album.

Opening with the aptly titled ‘Your Mission,’ Lexlay sets the narrative in motion, passion-driven, determined, and full of the wide-eyed excitement that launched his journey. ‘Press Play’ follows as a nostalgic nod to his early encounters with club culture, while ‘Late Night’ zooms in on the quiet grind of studio sessions and those formative years spent perfecting his craft behind the scenes.

Lexlay’s love for his home city also takes centre stage. ‘Welcome to the Club’ pays tribute to City Hall, the iconic Barcelona venue where his long-standing residency laid the foundation for what would become a global trajectory. Elsewhere, tracks like ‘Happy Vibes’ and ‘Live on Tour’ speak to the joy of growth, founding Happy Techno, touring the world, and building a family of artists around him.

Latin America, a region that’s embraced Lexlay with open arms, gets its moment on ‘Amor Latino’, a warm, percussive celebration of culture, rhythm and connection. From there, the album takes a more introspective turn with ‘Resilience’, born from the trials of the pandemic, and a sonic testament to pushing forward despite it all.

Best Sunsets’ and ‘Waiting in the Sun’ close out the album with the glow of possibility. They capture the golden-hour highs of Lexlay’s La Terrrazza parties and the rising arc of his team’s shared vision, united, ambitious, and in love with the music.

If 20 Years of Music feels like a love letter, that’s because it is. To the clubs that shaped him, the cities that welcomed him, and the people who danced with him along the way.

With this debut, Lexlay doesn’t just look back, he lays down the blueprint for the next chapter. And if it’s anything like the last two decades, expect more energy, more connection, and music made with heart.
