MIGS kicks off Mula label with groove-led single ‘Talk To Me In Monotone’

MIGS has launched his new imprint Mula with debut single ‘Talk To Me In Monotone’, a stripped-back tech house record built with late-night dancefloors firmly in mind.

The Miami-based DJ and producer has spent the last few years refining a sound centred around control, groove and functionality. Rather than chasing short-lived trends or overloading arrangements, his productions lean into rhythm and momentum. That approach has already seen him release on labels including Nervous Records, Under No Illusion, Terms and Conditions, Material Series and Happy Techno.

Support has continued to build around the project too. Artists including FISHER, Joseph Capriati, Manda Moor and Oscar G have all backed his records, helping push the music further into clubs across the US and beyond.

Mula now gives MIGS a direct outlet for that sound. The label launches with a simple idea at its core. Release records that DJs can trust in real club settings. No gimmicks. No overcomplicated concepts. Just functional dance music designed to work in the mix.

‘Talk To Me In Monotone’ sets that tone immediately. Punchy drums drive the record from the opening bars, while rough-edged textures add weight across the groove. The arrangement stays tight throughout, allowing the rhythm to breathe without losing intensity.

There is also a darker edge running underneath the track. The low end carries a steady sense of pressure, while subtle percussion changes keep the energy moving forward. That balance gives the record flexibility. DJs can stretch it across longer blends or drop it into heavier sections of a set without disrupting momentum.

The track reflects the wider direction MIGS appears to be taking with Mula. Everything feels deliberate and uncluttered. Instead of relying on big breakdowns or obvious hooks, the focus stays locked on movement and flow.

As an opening statement for the label, ‘Talk To Me In Monotone’ does exactly what it needs to do. It introduces the identity behind Mula clearly while reinforcing the club-focused approach that has shaped MIGS’ rise so far.

‘Talk To Me In Monotone’ is available now via Mula on Spotify, SoundCloud & Beatport
