The Romanian pop sensation & Eurovision star dials up the intensity on ‘Save You (Play & Pretend)’, a brooding rework landing via Universal Romania.
Romanian pop sensation ROXEN shakes things up with a new electronic alternative take on her latest single, ‘Save You’, dropping on April 4th.
ROXEN’s first single with Universal Music Romania, ‘Save You’, a track about the struggle to break through emotional barriers and offer unconditional love, showcases a more introspective sound for the singer-songwriter. With this alternative version, ROXEN amps up the energy, recontextualising it for the dancefloor with a thumping four-four kick and a dark and menacing electronic synth bassline.
Speaking about her emotional connection to the song, ROXEN says, “The song was written in Vienna when I was navigating this period of my life when I used to love without limits. Seeing that it hurt me, I realized that the only person capable of helping me break my bad habits is just me.”
ROXEN is one of Romania’s most successful and distinctive artists, known for her ethereal vocals and genre-blending sound. She gained international recognition as Romania’s representative at Eurovision 2021, with both her 2020 and 2021 entries remaining fan favourites within the Eurovision community.
Her debut single became a juggernaut on Romanian radio, topping the airplay charts and cementing her as a force in the local music scene. Since then, she has continued to rise with a string of successful releases, including ‘You Don’t Love Me’ (with SICKOTOY), ‘UFO’, and ‘Money Money’, all of which have charted in the top 10 across Europe, including Poland and Russia.
Beyond her chart success, ROXEN has amassed over 200 million YouTube views and built a loyal following of nearly 600,000 across her social media platforms. Her talents have also extended into film and gaming, contributing to the soundtrack of Teambuilding, one of Romania’s biggest box office hits, as well as featuring on the Valorant video game’s soundtrack.
