Sammy Virji announces new album, ‘Same Day Cleaning’

UK garage powerhouse Sammy Virji has announced details of his upcoming sophomore album Same Day Cleaning, set for release on 19th September via Polydor.

The announcement, made on Friday 13th June, follows a string of high-profile appearances that have solidified Virji’s status as one of the most exciting names in electronic music right now. In April, he made his Coachella debut, drawing some of the festival’s biggest crowds across three explosive performances, and released the album’s first single Nostalgia, featuring rising star Issey Cross.

Momentum continued into May with the drop of Cops & Robbers, the album’s second single — a heavyweight collaboration with grime icon Skepta. To mark the release, Virji and Skepta threw a massive pop-up party at London East in Canning Town, with thousands of fans signing up on the day (clip [here]).

The forthcoming album is set to feature a host of collaborations spanning the electronic spectrum and beyond, with more details to be revealed in the coming weeks.

As anticipation builds, Virji is embarking on a stacked summer tour schedule. He’ll headline two shows at Brooklyn Mirage in New York, and hit major festivals including Hideout, Outside Lands, Lowlands, Pukkelpop, Reading, and All Points East with Chase & Status. July sees him bring his high-energy sets to Boiler Room Ibiza, while September features marquee performances at Circoloco Ibiza and 10,000-capacity shows in LA and Denver — setting the stage for Same Day Cleaning’s release on 19th September.

Stream the first two singles — Nostalgia and Cops & Robbers — now, with more new music on the way soon.
