Future Star Oppidan Is Back With Her Belting New Single, ‘lose my head’

Radio 1 Dance ‘Future Star of 2025’ Oppidan dives into 2025 with her first single of the year, ‘lose my head’, out on February 29th via Promised Land Recordings.

UKG dynamo Oppidan showcases her signature melodic yet screwface-inducing style in ‘lose my head’. Jutting, glistening synth melodies intertwine and arpeggiate over a bumping bassline and driving garage grooves. A lo-fi edge and muffled vocal chops add texture, while a delicate, harp-like string melody in the breakdown brings a touch of charm.

‘lose my head’ follows Oppidan’s explosive 2024. She dropped her festival staple speed garage remix of ‘A Little Closer’ by Diffrent and unleashed her breakout smash ‘MR. SANDMAN’ (5M+ streams), which earned a nomination for ‘Best Track’ at the DJ Mag Awards. The track was part of her debut EP, UNTITLED SINES, which also featured ‘FRESH AND NEW’ with grime hero Frisco—who jumped on the mic at her show at The Cause in TKTK.

The Bristol-born producer/DJ performed at DJ Mag HQ and made her Boiler Room with Hamdi and Mia Koden, dropping on March 12th. She also played major festivals like Outlook and Creamfields, toured Australia, New Zealand, and the US, made an unforgettable Japan debut in October, and DJed at Four Tet’s Drumsheds takeover alongside Caribou and Logic1000 in November.

Since 2020, Oppidan’s cemented her place as a breakout star in UKG and bass music, joining a new generation redefining the sound for modern ravers. Nominated for ‘Breakthrough Producer’ by DJ Mag in 2023, her work’s appeared on labels like UKF and Night Bass, collaborating with artists like Sammy Virji, Hans Glader, and Dread MC.

2025 is shaping up to be another belter for the books, as Oppidan embarks on a stacked tour across North America and the UK. Kicking things off with a stint aboard Friendship in Miami, she’ll hit major club hotspots from Toronto to Los Angeles before making waves at EDC Las Vegas. March sees her tearing through Canada and the US before returning to home soil for a sold-out headline takeover at Village Underground on March 22nd (queue for resale tickets HERE). With more major festival slots and dates to announce, it’s looking like another big year for Oppidan.

The new single, ‘lose my head’, arrives on February 29th via Promised Land Recordings. Be sure to pre-save on Spotify etc. now, and head to Beatport to grab the exclusive extended mix.
